Argentina is the second largest country in South America following Brazil, and the largest Spanish-speaking country in South America. Argentina 250px-Argentina_topo_blank.jpgup approximately 2.7 million km². Argentina is bordered by Chile, containing the Andes mountains, to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Brazil and Uruguay to the Northeast, and Paraguay and Bolivia to the North.

Argentina's landscape is very diverse. It varies from deserts, to mountains, to even jungles!

Northwest:
The northwest region of Argentina is very mountainous. It includes some of the Andes Mountains, and a high plateau (la Puna), which lies near the border of Chilean and Bolivian Border. This regions major products are
fruit, olives, wine, sugar, minerals, oil, and gas.

Las Pampas:
The Pampas is a region that includes Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, and the southeastern part of Córdoba. The Pampas are located in the central-eastern part of Argentina. The Pampas contain around a quarter of the Argentina's land. The region has the highest population of any of the regions in Argentina (12 million). The eastern part of the region is humid and the western part is dry. Some of its major products include wheat, corn, and cattle.

Mesopotamia:
The region features valleys, hills, swamps, plains, and of course the beautiful Iguazu Falls. Mesopotamia, like the one in the middle east, is between two rivers - the Uruguay and Paraná rivers. It is a fertile, humid valley home to very exotic wildlife.
This region produces beef, wood, and paper.

In Mendoza, a province located in Cuyo, the tallest mountain in South America is located. The Aconcagua stands about seven-thousand (7000) meters tall towering above all of the land around it. This region is the source of wine, mineral & thermal water, fuels, minerals, and fruits.This region a major factor in Argentina's manufacturing in general.

The northeast region, or the Chaco, is a generally warm region with average summer temperatures of about 23°C. Chaco is forestal and is mass products are cotton, vegetables, and cattle. The flat areas of the Northeast region are used majorly for cattle grazing.

Patagonia is the largest region in Argentina. Patagonia is an arid, windy plateau. It covers most of the southern areas in Argentina. In Patagonia it rains less than 250mm a year (not too much) and it is relatively cool in Patagonia. Not even three percent of the population live in Patagonia. The main products of this region are fruit, oil, gas, aluminum, and fish.

Argentina, through sovereignty, claims 970,000 square kilometers on Antarctica from their arrival in 1881. Argentina, now, has four scientific bases, which include education, housing, and health facilities.
